Our representative will report at your residence at 0500 hours. Leave for Jaipur the Pink City of India.
Afternoon city tour of Jaipur, which includes visits to the City Palace of the Jaipur Maharaja, the honey-comb designed Hawa Mahal also known as the Palace of Winds from where the royal ladies, who lived in seclusion, observed life on the outside yet remained hidden inside.
Later leave for Samode.
Samode the small principality of Samode lies 50 kms northwest of the city of Jaipur and dates back to the 16th Century. The 7th ruler of Amber, the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire, had twelve sons, one of whom was awarded the feudatory seat of Samode for his gallantry and outstanding service. The construction of the fort began 400 years ago and each successive ruler added to the fort and the palace.
Upon arrival in Samode - check into hotel.
Samode Palace - The winner of the award for the best Heritage hotel in the country, for 5 consecutive years, the Palace has been meticulously restored offering a retreat into an aesthetically beautiful environment where visitors can enjoy India's natural beauty and rich history. It is full of architectural delights with stately corridors, frescoed walls ethereal audience halls, harmoniously reflecting the skill of master craftsmen. An evening at Samode is a magical experience of former princely India and part of an ongoing tradition.
Samode Bagh or walled garden in a sprawling 10 acres was an oasis set among the dry rugged expanses of an ochre desert. Today it rediscovers some of its lost splendour of a garden paradise. Shrubs of Lemon, Orange, Hibiscus, Pomegranate, Jasmine Lantana and a beautiful array of flowering & shade trees have been meticulously planted. Surviving the years, a majestic central pavilion containing a "bath" stands silently surrounded by "baradaris' or small open pavilions, sparkling fountains & mughal water channels.
Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, mount saddled camels for a short camel safari through village of Samode and into the picturesque countryside which consists of alternating sand-dunes, farm land and low lying hills. Pass through and stop to visit typical Rajasthani villages called "Dhanis" and get to meet and interact with local farmers and village folk. Hot picnic lunch will be served in a lavish style under the shade of trees, complete with carpets and rugs.
This afternoon is spent exploring the village of Samode through its narrow alleys and streets. Wandering through the village streets will give you a wonderful insight to an unchanged Rajasthan.
Morning we drive 1 hour from Jaipur to visit the fairy tale like Amer Fort, as you ascend the hill like a Maharaja, on the back of an elephant. Visit Amber Fort at the back of Elephant.
